In a nutshell we were simply blown away by the performance and refinement of these boats. It is simply not like anything either of us have ever sailed before, almost entirely for the better!

Current personal best under two sails – 19.80 knots. (Monday in approx 22 knots of breeze – very broad reach)

The modification has resulted in a straighter and lower bow in the final metre of his boat.

Massey said he had his boat George 1st up for sale for the “right price” but considered the modified Bieker 5 was a "special boat”. No matter what happens with the boat, Massey is certain to sail the next i14 worlds at Weymouth in Great Britain.

For the full report visit http://www.i14worlds.com
